A recent blog about the topic says that Google has launched Project Zero with the goal of “significantly reducing the number of people harmed by targeted attacks. Google is  hiring the best practically-minded security researchers and contributing 100% of their time toward improving security across the Internet”.

Google will focus on additional research such as mitigations, exploitation, program analysis and any other areas that is worth looking into to hinder breach attacks.  The blog also says that every bug will be filed in an external database and reported to that particular software vendor.
This project needs researchers to get involved and make it a success.  Read details of this news item here.
